Alaric detests the witches and their control over the pack as much as every other wolf shifter. The alpha is planning a rebellion and Alaric will help lead the attack on the witches. But then he meets Tanjie.
Secrets are being hidden from them both.
Tanjie must learn quickly otherwise her mistakes will cost her life. If Alaric isn’t clear what side he is on, he risks losing the pack forever.
Who will pay the consequences for their ignorance?
This was an interesting approach to starting a new romance series and introducing us to the mains, and the supernaturals of the world. Tanje is a woman grieving and rebelling against a future her parents wanted for her, and starting to find her way.
Alaric is rebelling against the role and the pressures placed upon him. He’s desperately wanting a way to forget what he’s expected to do.
How the two characters interwine is interesting. There’s a lot of moving parts in the background of the plot for a first book and it leaves you wanting to find out more about what will happen with our leads. A happily ever after seems uncertain but you want that tension to root for the conclusion.
This leaves you wanting more. I look forward to seeing what happens in the next book.
